THE ROSE

THE ROSE IS BEAUTIFUL,

A DELIGHT TO BEHOLD.

THE RED OF A SUNSET,

RADIATING SO BOLD.

IT'S SOFT PETALS ARE SILKEN,

SO SMOOTH TO THE TOUCH.

THE AROMA OF ATTAR,

INTOXICATING SO MUCH.

THE SWEETNESS OF POLLEN,

A LURE FOR THE BEE.

THE STURDIEST OF STALKS,

THORNY PROTECTION TO SEE.

THE STRENGTH OF ITS' ROOTS,

DEEP IN THE GROUND.

THE ROSE IS BEAUTIFUL,

NO STORM BLOWS IT DOWN.

THE ROSE STANDS PROUD,

ITS' BLOSSOMS HELD HIGH.

BILLY, YOU ARE THIS ROSE,

THE ROSE ON WHICH I RELY.
