SUNRISE

FROM THE EAST A LIGHT,

SLOWLY BRIGHTENING THE SKY;

CHASING AWAY THE NIGHT,

HORIZON VISIBLE, TO THE EYE.

TURNING THE CLOUDS TO RED,

THE SUN AWAKENS THE EARTH;

SHADOWS LEAPING FROM THEIR BED,

THE SEA, CHUCKLING WITH MIRTH.

DAY BREAKING THE DARK,

THE SUN STEADILY RISES;

SINGING OF THE LARK,

DAWN, FULL OF SURPRISES.

BURSTING FORTH AT LAST,

BLINDING TO THE EYE;

BEAUTIFUL VIEW SO VAST,

NATURES' CALL, TO SATISFY.

BRINGING NEW LIFE TO ALL,

FLOWERS, ANIMAL AND BEE;

FROM BIG AND STRONG TO SMALL,

THE SUNRISE, WILL ALWAYS FREE.
