PLUMMETING LOVE

HIGH ABOVE THE WORLD,

SOARING THE LOFTY HEIGHTS;

A PAIR OF BALD EAGLES MOVING,

MAJESTIC BIRDS, IN FLIGHT.

LOOKING MOTIONLESS, WINGS OUTSPREAD;

FLOATING, GLIDING AND HOVERING.

SUDDENLY TOGETHER, PHYSICALLY ENTWINED,

BEGINNING TO SPIRAL, DESCENDING FAST.

WINGS BEATING, BEAK TO BEAK;

THEIR TALONS GRIPPING SOUND.

PLUMMETING LOVE IN FIERCE RHYTHM,

SAVAGELY MATING, PLUNGING DOWN.

THE EARTH SWIFTLY RISING;

SHRILL SCREAMS PIERCE THE AIR.

WINGS FLAPPING WITH AIR RUSHING,

FEATHERS DRIFTING, HERE AND THERE.

THEN SUDDENLY COMING APART,

JUST OVER THE GROUND, THE TWO;

SWOOPING UP, WITHOUT EFFORT,

FLYING GRACEFULLY, INTO THE BLUE.
