RETURN TO HELL

I HAVE NOW RETURNED TO HELL,

THE COLD HELL I LEFT BEFORE.

I'M BACK AT EDMONTON REMAND;

OUR LIFE I'M TRYING TO RESTORE.

HELL IS STILL COLD AS BEFORE,

SHIVERING IN A SMALL JAIL CELL.

NO EXTRA TOWELS TO HELP OUT;

ONE HOLELY BLANKET MY NIGHT PAL.

WRITING ON A COLD CHROME DESK,

SOCK FEET ON COLD CEMENT FLOOR.

WEARING A T-SHIRT IN HELL,

FREEZING, BEHIND A CLOSED STEEL DOOR.

I'M GLAD MY RETURN IS SHORT,

ONLY A FEW DAYS, I'M TOLD.

I'M APPEALING MY SENTENCE OF TIME,

THEN I CAN LEAVE THIS HELLISH COLD.

MOST COLD FACES HAVE CHANGED;

SOME OF THE SAME ARE HERE.

THE NEW ONES ARE MOSTLY YOUNG;

JUST KIDS, FACING A WHOLE NEW FEAR.

SATAN WILL NEVER BE MY FRIEND;

HE MAY DOMINATE MORE THAN A FEW.

I'LL FIGHT HIM ALL THE WAY;

HE WON'T STAND BETWEEN, ME AND YOU.
